Ugly Sweater Style

I made these earrings awhile back (inspired by this) so I don't have a full tutorial with pictures of each step, materials, and the whole nine yards. It's really simple though so you don't really need it.



Basically what you do is take your lace applique or doily and cut of a part that you want to use for your earrings. For the studs cut of a small part like a little flower and glue it onto the earring backs. For the dangle earrings cut a bigger part of the lace that hangs down. Open the hook of the earring hook and attach the lace. I just put the hook through and open part of the lace as you can see in the picture, but if your applique or doily has a hole in it you can attach it there.

I've recently had a really big obsession with braids. As a curly, frizzy haired girl, I usually only have two options in the morning (because straightening my hair takes about two hours): a bun, or a braid. And that's been getting a little bit old, so I went on a quest around the interwebs for fun, interesting takes on braids and buns. This is what I found:

• Fishtail Braid Bun: Learn how to do a fishtail. Flip head upside down, and braid until the beginning of the top of your head. Then use a small elastic to hold it, and put the rest of your hair in a bun.

•  Multiple Twisted Buns: Just smooth back hair and make a lot of little buns by the nape of your neck. Pin them with bobby pins.

•  Braided Crown: I like this better than the classic milkmaid braids. Here's the tutorial.
